Within the framework of the 56th anniversary of the inauguration of the Art Museum of Ciudad Juárez, we invite you to the inauguration of the exhibition "Brian Maguire: absence scenarios".
Brian Maguire is an Irish painter with a unique and inclusive vision. Activist, correspondent and a voice for the dispossessed and marginalized, Brian presents an exhibition consisting of four chapters that encompass political and social problems lived in his native Ireland, the devastation of the war in Aleppo, Syria and drug trafficking on the border of States United and Mexico. In the latter approaching still painful issues for our society with portraits of the missing girls of Juarez.
His works were developed during his stay in these different cities, where he traces complex connections with people who have remained in the darkness of global capitalism.
This exhibition is held jointly between the Art Museum of Ciudad Juárez and the Stanlee & Gerald Rubin Center for Visual Arts of the University of Texas at El Paso.
