A Very Special Sunday at Kerlin Gallery - Join artist Elizabeth Magill in conversation with author Paul Murray
Kerlin Gallery is delighted to participate in Dublin Gallery Weekend 2026, with extended opening hours throughout the weekend and a special Sunday programme celebrating the work of renowned Irish painter Elizabeth Magill
Kerlin Gallery is pleased to welcome artist Elizabeth Magill in conversation with award-winning Irish novelist and author of 'The Bee Sting' Paul Murray. Bringing together two celebrated figures from Ireland’s visual art and literary worlds, this special live conversation promises an engaging and personal look at Magill’s extraordinary career, her enduring relationship with landscape, and the ideas, memories and processes behind her new paintings.
Following the conversation, guests will be invited to enjoy a live performance by acclaimed Irish traditional musicians Caitlín Nic Gabhann and Ciarán Ó Maonaigh, performing within the gallery space. With coffee and special treats from Parnell St Bakery, the afternoon will be a relaxed and lively celebration of Irish art, music and culture.
Northern Sky
With an international career spanning four decades, Magill returns to where it all began with Northern Sky, an exhibition of new oil paintings at Kerlin Gallery from 8 October – 21 November 2026.
The exhibition marks an exciting new chapter in Magill’s career and coincides with the launch of Northern Sky, a major new monograph celebrating her work. The publication features a specially commissioned text by celebrated Irish writer Colm Tóibín and has been produced in collaboration with Annely Juda Fine Art, London, and Miles McEnery Gallery, New York. Bringing together the magnificent new series presented at Kerlin Gallery with more than two decades of Magill’s practice, the book offers an expansive look at one of Ireland’s most internationally recognised painters.
Northern Sky offers an opportunity to encounter a major new chapter in the career of an artist whose paintings have, for more than four decades, transformed landscape into something more elusive, a place of memory, atmosphere and possibility.
