"Outrage: Missing and Murdered Indigenous People in Montana," published alongside a 2025 exhibition at the Missoula Art Museum, features portraits by Brian Maguire. The book featuring portraits of missing and murdered Indigenous people has won the 2026 High Plains International Book Award in the Art & Photography category.

Maguire began the project in 2020, working with Montana families to create portraits based on photographs of their loved ones. He produces two paintings of each person, giving one to the family and making the other available for public exhibition.

The High Plains International Book Awards recognize literary works reflecting life in the High Plains region.

The exhibition is on display at This House of Books in Billings until December 2026. Copies of the book are available at the Missoula Art Museum.
